Slow Cooker Zuppa Toscana Soup Recipe
Zuppa Toscana soup is a fan favorite from Olive Garden. It one of my absolute favorite soups. It is extremely easy to make. You can either cook it on the stove or in a slow cooker aka crockpot. I have cooked it both ways and I preferred the slow cooker option the best.
Slow cooker recipes are much more efficient. We all live busy lives and sometimes do not get a chance to spend time preparing and cooking meals. Crockpot recipes are efficient and easy. You simply prepare the ingredients and then let the cooker work its magic.
Try this recipe on a cold winter day. Prepare the soup before you start your day. Then leave it in the crockpot until you get home and voila! Dinner is ready!
1 3lb bag of russet potatoes
1 lb Jimmy Dean Italian Sausage
1 Package of bacon bits
1 White onion diced
2 (32 oz) boxes of chicken broth
1 1/2 cups Heavy Whipping cream
2 cups of water
Peel potatoes and cut them into dice sizes. Chop the onion and put the onion in into the crockpot with the diced potatoes.
Cook Italian sausage in a pan until mostly done. When you are done cooking be sure to drain all of the grease and then rinse the sausage. When you are finished put the sausage into the crockpot.
Pour bacon bits into the crockpot along with the chicken broth, chopped kale, heavy whipping cream, and water into the crockpot.
Put salt and pepper then stir ingredients well. Turn the crockpot on high and let cook for about 4 hours.
