A little background about me…
Okay, this is going to sound terrible but I am a college drop-out and I do not have a “real job” as most people would call it. I am self-employed! I get to work from home and create my own schedule. This is something that I have always worked towards and now it has finally become my reality. I couldn’t be happier with how my hard work has paid off. I knew I was going to become successful one day but I also knew that my story to success was going to be different than most. It was going to take a lot of extra effort, time, and dedication but I was going to stop at nothing to reach that point.
Here I am today, writing this blog post while spending time with my family. True freedom is being able to work from anywhere! It was honestly the best moment when my passions and career came together! I say all this to give you that motivation to do the same. It surely is not easy but you can do anything that you put your mind to!
Become your own damn boss and create the life that you love! It will take a small investment to start but it will be the best decision you could make! You will be on the path to ultimate freedom! Do not keep wasting your precious time!
So how did I get over 5.1k views within my first 2 weeks blogging?!
In case you are skeptical and want proof here are my stats pictured below!
To be completely honest when I first started having an interest in blogging, I had no idea that it could be any more than just a hobby. My first intention was to blog about my life experiences and struggles to help other’s who are going through some of the same battles. But I eventually found out that you can indeed make money blogging! In fact, not just make money- you can make a complete living off of blogging! WHAT?! YESSS!!!
Money and blogging had me intrigued so I researched and researched how bloggers make money. I learned soo much helpful information that helped me to get my blog off to a strong start.
I am a bit of a perfectionist, so I wanted to start my blog off strong as if I had been blogging for a long time. This, of course, meant spending a ton of time learning the ins and outs of making money blogging.
1. Research, Research, Research
I spent countless hours researching everything I could about blogging and making money blogging. When I was working at my “normal job” I spent every free moment reading articles and soaking up as much information as I could. Even when I wasn’t working I spent a majority of my free time reading every article with an intriguing title.
Through research, I had gained a ton of knowledge from wise bloggers that I was able to utilize in starting my blog on the path to success.
I know starting a blog is exciting! Once you develop a passion for blogging it is hard to take your attention away from it. You become soo eager to publish your blog so you spend every moment that you can working on it. But a common mistake that I see a lot of beginner bloggers do, is publish their blog way too soon. Majority of the time, they lack quality content, have poor web design, the theme still uses default texts, and it simply is not ready for public eyes. Sharing your blog with the public too soon can have negative effects on your blog views. Be patient and share when it is complete.
2. Facebook Groups
Another awesome thing that I learned is the power of Facebook Groups. I never even realized how great they were before I started blogging. Joining Facebook Groups for bloggers, similar niche, and entrepreneurs have a ton of phenomenal benefits.
Why you need to join Facebook Groups RIGHT NOW!
- Promotion: They are a great way to promote your blog! Sure, you can share your blog and posts on your personal social media but it is extremely hard to get organic views that way. Your personal Facebook only reaches the selective amount of friends that you have. Promoting yourself in a group will reach a more significant group of people who are like minded.
- Support: The support and encouragement that you will receive are incredible! Honestly, as much as I hate to say it, I have received more support from complete strangers than people that I actually know. It’s crazy! But I am beyond thankful for the amount of support that I have experienced from the groups that I am in.
- Wisdom: There are a ton of experienced bloggers eager to share tips and advice. Through the success of other bloggers is where I gained a lot of my motivation.
- Inspiration: In general seeing first-hand the success that fellow bloggers accomplish is inspiring to me. A lot of bloggers who achieve a full-time income share their income reports. Their income reports consist of their expenses to upkeep their blog and the methods that bring in their income.
- Increase Knowledge: If you have blogging questions chances are someone else has the same question. Facebook groups are a great way to get answers. You can learn through the tips and advice that others share with you.
- Resources: Fellow bloggers share resources that they utilize and have success within for you to benefit from as well. For example, a great way to monetize your blog is through affiliate marketing. Fellow bloggers will share their tops affiliates that they make the most income from.
- Community: Most of the groups that I have in have over 10k members. The communities are full of other like-minded individuals all working towards similar goals.
- Relationships: In the business world sometimes it is all about who you know. Networking with others and building connections are extremely important. In groups, you will build connections with people from all over the world. You can engage in coffee meet-ups with people nearby and eventually turn those connections into relationships.
Utilizing the right areas of Facebook can be beneficial to your blog. But there also comes some negatives that I will inform you about as well. Utilizing Facebook Pages is a great feature to keep your followers up to date. Most of the time people are not going to remember to check up on your website to see if you have posted new content. Therefore, this will eventually decrease your page views (which you don’t want). This is where Facebook can be beneficial.
Facebook Page: You can make a page for your personal blog and invite all of your friends to join. Share it on your personal page so everyone knows what it is that you are asking them to join. Every time you write a new blog post share it on your blog and personal page. Make sure that you are using images that are appealing to the eye as well as attention getter captions. It is very important! Remember, you want people to click that post to read more. So keep it interesting and give your followers a reason to want to read more.
I created a page for my blog and I share it every chance that I get. When I mentioned above about joining Facebook groups and one of the benefits being promotion-this is why! To be completely honest most of my followers are not people that I know. Majority of them are established from my Facebook Groups. A lot of bloggers like to support each other and do follow for follow. After that, you may think it ends there but it sure doesn’t! Your post is going to pop up in their newsfeed from time to time and draw them to read your blog content.
If you like my content and want to keep up with more useful information be sure to visit and like Through Her Eyes Facebook page by clicking the link below.
Boosting Content: Facebook has a feature that allows you to boost your content.
“What does that even mean?”
Well, it means that you can pay to boost your post, meaning it will become sponsored and show up on random people’s newsfeed (even if they aren’t your friends). The nice thing is you can choose a price within your budget to boost. If you can only afford $5 you can pay that and Facebook will give you an idea of how many people you will reach with that particular amount. The more that you pay, the more people you will reach.
I have boosted a couple of posts and according to the stats, the boosted post reached more people than it did organically. To read more about boosting post click the link below.

Facebook Groups: I previously already touched on the topic of the importance of Facebook Groups. But I did not mention the awesome fact that you can create your own group as well! You can create a group based on your blogging niche, a group for female/male bloggers only, a group for all bloggers, a group for entrepreneurs, etc. There are tons of group categories that you can choose. But make sure you choose one that relates to your blog so you can promote both of them together! SHARE SHARE SHARE!!! Post about your group on your personal and blog page. Talk about your group on your blog. Ask people to join. This is your group, so take control!

I’m not sure about you but whenever I have a question that I am looking to get answered my alternative to Google is Pinterest! A LOT of people utilize Pinterest… hence a great resource of traffic for your blog! Pins that you post on Pinterest continue to float around regardless of how long ago you posted it! A great tool for Pinterest is Tailwind. It is a service that allows you to schedule pins. We all know blogging takes a lot of hard work and time. Most of us do not have time to spend on social media constantly promoting our content. Tailwind takes this stress off of your shoulders. After you have scheduled your pins, Tailwind takes care of the pinning and will post pins for you. It also gives helpful tips on the best times for you to schedule your pins to reach the most audience.
I can honestly say it the best tool for Pinterest. You may think that you don’t need Tailwind because you spend enough time on Pinterest and can manually pin yourself. You may be right. But the benefits that you are missing from Tailwind are crucial to exploding your blog traffic!
Tailwind not only schedules your pins, it pulls a bunch of data from your particular boards, followers, board followers, etc and finds the best times for you to pin. When you schedule pins Tailwind will post them when you are more likely to get the most views. This is an awesome feature!
Don’t get me wrong, I am a skeptical person just like a lot of you are. I thought that Tailwind was just an extra tool to market that bloggers could make money from so I was apprehensive to try it. Every article that I read about Pinterest talked about Tailwind. So I had to give it a try and see if it was really worth it. Let me tell you, it TOTALLY was and is!
In just a matter of a couple of days using Tailwind, my Pinterest profile views and daily impressions have significantly increased!
Before I started using Tailwind, my monthly views were a little over 1,000. Now, they just keep climbing! Mind you it was only a couple of days that it took me to increase my views by 4 times! My monthly viewers were at 5.4k. Just a couple of days later I am at 14.5k monthly views! INSANE RIGHT?! Tailwind is seriously AMAZING! Increasing my Pinterest views ultimately increases my blog views because people are engaging with my pins which link back to my blog! It is an amazing system!
Do not be skeptical like I was. I showed you proof of how Tailwind can SIGNIFICANTLY increase your pageviews! Take the big step forward to explode your blog traffic and sign up for the annual plus plan (what I have). It is the best plan available with no restrictions. 5. Pinterest Group Boards
Another powerful resource with Pinterest is the ability to join group boards.
“How do I find group boards to join?”
Good question! A helpful tool that I use is PinGroupie. It is a directory full of group boards! You can use keywords to search boards related to your niche or particular categories that you are looking for. PinGroupie has been extremely helpful for me. I found a lot of great boards to join.
“So…how do I join them?”
Each board will have its own rules in order to join. But most of the time it will be along the lines of following the board creator, the board itself, and then emailing the board creator asking them to join. When you are invited to join a group board you will get a notification on your Pinterest profile that you can accept.
“How do group boards work?”
When you join a group board you become a contributor. This means that you can pin to that board as if it were your own board that you created. But make sure that you follow the board rules so you do not lose your privileges or get kicked out. Pinning to group boards in beneficial for you because more people will see your pins hence more followers and page views. The key is to join group boards that have a lot of followers.
Twitter believe it or not is also another great social media platform for promoting your blog content. When you publish a new blog post you can share it on Twitter as well. The key to twitter is having an attention getter description, appealing picture, and hashtags. You will be surprised the people that end up liking, retweeting, and following you are people that you don’t even know. That is the beauty of Twitter! Your content will be public (unless you choose otherwise) and displayed on random people’s newsfeed.
Instagram is another social media platform that can be beneficial to your blog. It is especially beneficial for fashion, beauty, travel, and food bloggers. Instagram is all about visual. You need to make sure you have pictures that are interesting and with great graphics. Your pictures are the key to draw users to your page. Utilizing hashtags is also important! Make sure that you are using hashtags that are related to your post. This will reach a greater audience and in return bring more likes and followers to your page.
Also, I can’t forget to mention that Tailwind works on Instagram as well! So it is another extra incentive to be sure to sign up! You won’t regret it!

8. Quality Content
Your content is key to getting page views and followers. You can have all of the right marketing tactics but if your blog does not have quality content you are going to have trouble sustaining readers. When you plan blog post ideas, think of things that are going to be interesting to others. Something that may be interesting to you may not be to others. Although it is your blog and you are free to write about whatever you choose, if you are trying to make money you need to think about what other’s want to read. Your posts should be helpful, beneficial, and useful to other individuals. Write posts that are a solution to someone’s problem.
Another important factor to writing quality content is using proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation. I know most of us are not experts so that’s where this handy tool comes in handy-Grammarly! I absolutely love this tool and honestly do not know what I would do without it! Writing has never been easier. I have the Google Chrome extension installed. Whenever I am writing something while using the Google Chrome browser Grammarly has my back and makes sure my I am writing using proper grammar. I can’t tell you how many late nights I have spent writing blog content and made tons of grammatical errors that I overlooked. But Grammarly catches every mistake and provides you with the solution! This is a must-have tool!
9. Opt-In Freebie
Everyone loves free stuff! Especially when it is something that is useful to them. Sign up for an email marketing provider. I recommend Mailerlite and you can sign up by clicking here. Your first 1000 subscribers are free! I love the platform and a perk that I love is being able to design free landing pages for your opt-ins. You will not be disappointed. Go sign up now if you do not already have an email marketing provider.
After you have signed up you need to create a freebie to get readers to subscribe to your blog.
- A How-To guide
- Worksheet or Workbook
You can do anything that you think would be beneficial to your readers. Keep an eye on your Google Analytics to see the posts that are getting the most views and create an opt-in related to those posts. You have to be unique with your opt-ins. Most people are not going to easily give up their email addresses for something they are not interested in because they get enough junk emails. Make your opt-in something they can’t resist.
Once you have email subscribers that is your opportunity to keep drawing people back to your blog. Which is exactly what you want to do.

10. Descriptions and Keywords
Search engine optimization (SEO) is also very important in getting organic search engine traffic. By utilizing keywords in your descriptions you will start to rank higher in search results related to your post. Therefore, people will find your posts without you even having to use extra marketing tactics. Using informative and interesting descriptions will draw people to your blog or social media profiles.
